Getting Started

Welcome to our blog! I've never blogged before so this is a new experience!! This year has been full of new experiences: moving to Memphis, graduating college, getting engaged, getting married, and now...blogging! What a year it has been!! Joseph was quite the blogger before we got together, so he should probably be the one writing this, but hey I'm gonna give it a shot. Anyway, I think I'll start with a little history and bring us up to date.

Joseph and I were the victims of a set up just like so many of you out there. My sister and my cousin were relentlessly trying to get us together and well it worked! Joseph and I started dating long distance for about 4 months. He was living in Nashville and I was in Atlanta. It was 4 months full of ridiculously long phone conversations, some video chatting, and lots of weekend trips. My grades went down and his gas bills went up, but we managed to see each other quite frequently!

Then Joseph got a job with Reach Records and we prayed about the decision to move to Memphis. Needless to say, the Lord opened wide the doors of opportunity convincing us that it was His will for us to each make the move. And so, finally, we were living in the same city free to date and see each other any time! Although Memphis takes some getting used to, we began to feel more comfortable as time passed and as we became more familiar with the people and places around us. Fast forward 4 more months to 2 days before my graduation and we're engaged with a wedding date three months away!!

Okay, so the wedding day. Well, first let me back up a bit to the trip from Memphis, TN to Roswell, GA. On the way down we stopped in Franklin, TN where Joseph purchased my engagement ring. We were just going to have it checked out and tightened if it needed it. However, Joseph caught sight of a wedding ring that we both fell in love with. And so, on the road to get married we purchased my wedding ring that perfectly compliments my engagement ring! Alright, back to the wedding. The forecast was rainy!!! Our outdoor wedding was going to be ruined!! BUT, God was so amazing on that day. Not only did He bring Joseph and I together, but He also allowed it to rain before the ceremony and then stopped the rain for our ceremony. I mean the clouds were swept away and blue sky prevailed for the wedding and for pictures. As soon as the reception started it began to pour! Again, for our departure, the Lord stopped the rain for that moment and it began again when we got into the car. What a great wedding gift from the Lord!!

The wedding itself was so lovely. Walking down that aisle was such a sweet, wonderfully intense, and unforgettable moment for both of us. We are eternally grateful for what the Lord has done in our lives and we are looking forward to continuing to serve Him together!

This is a slide show of our journey through dating, engagement, and into marriage!
